Dieter Lutz

Certified public accountant, attorney, specialist lawyer for tax law.

Born in Offenburg, Baden, in 1951, he studied law, economics, philosophy, and psychology in Freiburg and Aix-en-Provence. A pioneer in life and business coaching, he is also an athletics coach (including the European indoor 400 m champion and 1972 Olympian). Drawing on his practical experience, he continuously develops innovative systems for increasing success and competence, such as "Cooperative Business Coaching®," the Strategic Business Navigator (SUN), and a variety of tools for diagnosing, evaluating, planning, and managing knowledge-based companies.

Founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ERC AG, Head Coach of the European Consultant Academy® and the European Entrepreneur Academy®. Through numerous publications and events, Dieter Lutz provides many interested parties with access to the latest knowledge in the fields of strategy, organization, marketing, cooperation, competence and knowledge management, business coaching, and entrepreneurship.

Business milestones

  • 1982: Self-employment as a lawyer
  • 1985: Managing partner of a tax consulting firm with 35 employees. Part-time management training at the University of St. Gallen/CH and founding of a management consulting and auditing firm.
  • Since 1993: Establishment of ERC, a cooperation network for tax advisors, auditors, and attorneys
  • 1995: Founding of ERC Euro Regio Consult Aktiengesellschaft as the management company of the ERC network
  • 1995: Publication of the standard work "Marketing für Steuerkanzleien" (Marketing for Tax Firms) by Dieter Lutz, published by C.H.Beck
  • 2000: Founding of Lutz Business Coaching AG, a service provider offering innovative success coaching for forward-thinking entrepreneurs in the SME sector
  • 2000: Founding of ERC Consulting Group AG, a management consultancy specializing in strategy and organization
  • 2000: ERC Euro Regio Consult AG is renamed ERC Euro Regio Cooperation AG
  • 2001: Founding of the Lifecoaching Academy Baden-Baden (in cooperation with the city of Baden-Baden)
  • 2002: Founding of the European Consultant Academy® and the European Entrepreneur Academy®
  • 2003: Initiator of Deutsche Post AG's SME offensive
  • 2008: Dieter Lutz and his team achieve a quantum leap in the renewal of the business model for tax firms ("most important building block for increasing customer benefit and profitability" – SteuerConsultant, issue 1/2011)
  • 2009: Publication of the book: "Lust auf Zukunft statt Angst vor Krisen – Erfolgstrategien für Unternehmer und Berater" (2010: 2nd expanded edition)
  • 2010: Pioneering law firms receive the main sponsorship award from the German SME Program for implementing the renewed ERC business model.
  • 2010: Publication of the book: "The Attractive Tax Firm – Innovative Strategies for Renewal"
  • 2011: Founding of the ERC Coaching Club under the umbrella of the European Consultant Academy®
  • 2012: Publication of the book: "The tax advisor/auditor as an entrepreneur – Increase your attractiveness"
  • 2012: The French translation of the current book, "L'expert-comptable entrepreneur," is the official book of the National Congress of French Experts-Comptables in Paris.
  • 2020: Publication of the booklet: "Leadership as a key competence"
